Assigner, Dan Taylor, informed officials that
there are already a lot of junior high games underway.
The first HS game will be on November 28. The clinic,
concussion clinic and test is available on the WOA website.
Dan encouraged officials to look at the Master Schedule to
see when the busiest nights are for each association and
fill out their Arbiter calendar's appropriately. Pat
Kaminske was introduced as the financial advisor for
SCBOWBO.
Nathan had all the new officials stand up and be
recognized.
Nathan commented on the relationship between SCBOA and
SCBOWBO. A joint operating agreement has been
drawn up and signed by both boards that will continue the
joint efforts that have been done in the past:
Meetings, Assignors working together, training, recruiting
etc. Proposals about a possible consolidation are
being prepared. Details will be provided to
members to vote on before this season ends which would then
take effect for the 2012-2013 season if approved.
Mark Hedges is heading up a ratings committee which is
looking at the possibility of recommending some changes to
the ratings system for a vote by SCBOWBO members.
Nathan introduced Dennis Myers as the leader of the
apprentice program.
On-court training will be held at Eisenhower Middle
School in Everett on the 1st three Thursdays of November
(Nov 3, 10 and 17). Sessions will run from 6:30
PM to 8:00 PM.
Apprentice meetings will be held on the nights of all
joint general meetings at 6 PM (one hour prior to general
meetings).

commenced at 7:06 PM.
Girls President Nathan Murphy welcomed everyone to the 2011 season
and announced that boy's president, Rob Findley, was unable
to attend due to a family emergency. Nathan introduced
the SCBOWBO and SCBOA board members as well as each
association's assignor and finance advisor.
Nathan
spoke about the recent stabbing at Snohomish High School and
discussed options for showing our support.
Nathan mentioned that Mike DeLong will be selling
officials apparel and supplies again this year. Mike
was not in attendance tonight.
Dave Johnson passed out personal services agreements
for officials to sign. Personal Services
agreements need to be signed year. He also
discussed Code of Conduct forms which must be completed by
an official who has not turned one in during past seasons.
Rulebooks were available from the assignors.
Phillip James discussed the 2011-2012 rules changes.
Leslie Tidball discussed the 2011-2012 points of
emphasis.
Officials were asked to stand and then instructed to
sit as "years of service" were announced. The
final official standing was Lee Ottini who has been
officiating since 1970.
Nathan broke the group up into seven smaller groups to
discuss rules scenarios.
Lee Ottini instructed officials on how to fill-out
their availability calendars in Arbiter. Lee had
some large visual calendars that he used to enhance his
instructions.
