Meeting Summary

November 29, 2004

General Meeting Held at 7 PM on Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Everett Elks Club: (Apprentice Meeting at 6 PM) Pat Kaminske called the meeting to order. He reminded everyone to call their partners to verify assignments. He also encouraged everyone to arrive early when possible to do a thorough pregame. If an official finds out that they will be unable to make a game (sickness etc.), please notify the assignor ASAP. Larry Kiger reminded everyone that the state tests are due at the next meeting. Officials who do not turn in a state test will not get game assignments. Kevin Erickson passed around the latest referee roster and asked everyone to verify their address, phone numbers and e-mail ID's. Larry Kiger passed out plaques to last year's state tournament officials who were in attendance: Moe Kon, Kevin Erickson, Pat Kaminske and Mike Shumway. Todd Barnes gave a demonstration of the electronic paysheet that he has created for use by our officials. It requires that an official have Microsoft's Excel program. It will automatically generate game fees and travel fees and makes our financial advisor's job a lot easier. Officials are encouraged to use this valuable tool. Assignor Dan Taylor reminded everyone that rec ball games occur this weekend. A reminder that officials do not have to fill out pay sheets for rec ball. Those are paid once a month. Officials should keep track of the games they work on their own to make sure no mistakes are made when they receive their monthly check. Assignments were given out to officials in attendance. Two copies of assignments are given out and officials are to sign one copy and return it to verify they can work those games or to highlight any turnbacks. Officials should NOT be turning games back on days that they listed as "available to work basketball." The assignor should be notified immediately when availability changes occur. The board has decided that girls officials are not allowed to make up missed meetings by attending a boys association meeting instead. Scott Gallacher won the free shirt in the attendance raffle.
