SECOND GENERAL MEETING
:
-
Tony Churlin opened the meeting at 7:05 PM. He made an announcement that
no official should worry about paying dues up front if it is a hardship for
them. Arrangements can be made to have dues deducted from an official's
paycheck.
-
Tony announced that a mileage increase for officials is forthcoming.
Outlying area mileage (Darrington, Skykomish, Duvall) will increase from $20.00
per game to $25.00 per game and other schools will increase from $15.00 per game
to $20.00 per game. This fee will continue to be split between all the
officials who drive to the game.
-
Tony Churlin reminded everyone to sign-in to
Arbiter. Anyone having problems signing-in to Arbiter needs to contact a
board member.
-
Greg Osborne requested party location ideas from general members. Our
party has outgrown the small room that Alfy's Pizza has provided to us over the
past few years and Greg is looking for ideas of new places to host our party at
the end of this season.
-
Troy Moe announced that there will be apprentice floor training on Saturday
morning at 10:30 AM at Mountlake Terrace HS. This is floor training
provided by the SCBOA association, but SCBOWBO officials are welcome. Troy
also announced that he would appreciate help from the "veterans" at his
apprentice meetings and would like to have veterans be "guest speakers" and
present a topic at future apprentice meetings.
-
Tony Churlin led a basketball presentation about proper coverage and
responsibilities for the jump ball in both 3-person and 2-person.
-
Dan Taylor reminded officials that not everyone has signed-in to Arbiter yet and
everyone needs to do so ASAP. Rec ball is starting this weekend and Dan
will be assigning a rookie official with a veteran official to cover the games.
