Meeting Summary

December 13, 2004

General Meeting Held at 7 PM on Monday, December 13, 2004 at the Everett Elks Club:
(Apprentice Meeting at 6 PM)

  • A "Fundamentals of 3-person" video was viewed by several SCBOWBO officials prior the general meeting at 6:30.
  • Tony Churlin called the meeting to order. Game scenarios were discussed including some questions about switching in 3-person.
  • Pat Kaminske passed out a form that showed some minor changes to some of the written criteria for each ratings category. A vote was taken on the changes and it passed by a score of 54-5.
  • It was announced that Scott Morris will be taking a leave of absence and that Glenn Dunbar has retired from officiating after 30 years. Both officials will be missed this season.
  • Jason Bradley passed out voluntary donation slips for our player scholarship program. Referees pledged an amount to be taken from their end-of-season paychecks to be donated to the program. Jason collected the donation slips.
  • Larry Kiger collected the NFHS rules tests to be turned in to the WOA office.
  • Kevin Erickson discussed some new items on the website including a new "articles" section which contains articles written by veteran SCBOWBO officials. A new "3-person pregame form" is also available on the website.
  • Assignor Dan Taylor reminded everyone that rec ball games will be heating up soon and he needs as many officials as possible to work rec ball.
  • Troy Moe will administer the video-taping program and will have a sign-up sheet at the next general meeting.
  • Inadequate facilities for officials at Lakewood H.S. and Lake Stevens H.S. was discussed and the board will follow-up.
  • Bruce Hoffman won the free shirt in the attendance raffle.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 10, 2005.
