SCBOWBO President

The duties of the president are to secure a meeting facility and organize all association meetings, set meeting agendas, organize and run all board meetings, communicate with school athletic directors for rule clarification and fee changes, stay in communication with the boy's referee association and coordinate joint activities where appropriate, act as SCBOWBO representative to outside groups, nominate deserving referees for the WOA Meritorious Service Award and the WOA Official-of-the-year award, assign follow-up items to board members at each board meeting, evaluate game assignors and the financial advisor and act as the liason between the association and all schools during the school season. The president shall also choose two individuals with good integrity and attention to detail to compile and update official ratings at the end of the season.

The duties of the vice president board member include running the apprentice program, administering the state ref test, administering the coach/player/school awards programs (including making ballots that include all coaches, schools, and nominated players), publicizing and collecting applications for state camps, and to publicize the need for new officials.

The duties of the 2nd-year board member are to assist in the apprentice program, administer the video library, assist the president in evaluating the game assignors and the financial advisor, order and distribute plaques for all state officials from the previous year, and to publicize the need for new officials.

While not an official member of the board, the school assignor works closely with the board of directors and attends almost all board meetings. Duties include scheduling all school games (including pre-season scrimmages and jamborees as well as district playoffs), provide complete and accurate game information to the financial advisor, taking attendance at all general meetings, providing assigning schedules to the website administrator on a timely basis and maintain disk backups of the scheduling database. While not an official member of the board, the recreation assignor works closely with the board of directors. Duties include assigning all recreation leagues, provide complete game information to the financial advisor, facilitate training of new refs by pairing new officials with veteran officials when possible and keeping an accurate and current list of contacts for each recreation group that we provide officials for.
Finance Advisor

Duties include collecting availability forms and info forms for all referees, keeping a spreadsheet of all referees and schools, keeping an inventory of shirt patches and flags and passing out rulebooks to all paid-up association members. The financial advisor shall be responsible for creating a preliminary budget for the school program as well as the recreation program, obtaining and distributing WOA patches for all referees, billing schools, preparing 1099 forms and paychecks, tracking revenue and expenditures, making sure that the WOA office credits us for the proper number of certified officials as well as the number of schools that we serve, levy fines to offending association members as directed by the board and the SCBOWBO constitution, recommend necessary capital purchases for the association, and keeping the association's books in order such that we are always ready for an audit.
