Board Meeting * Meeting called to order at 6:30 PM In attendance: Mike Cashman, Wayne Sneva, Trent Harwood, Jack Palmer, Leslie Tidball, Kevin Stride, Duane Taylor Mike Cashman presented the Spokane Basketball Association model to the board, he will follow up by sending out the documents to the board members. Mike also discussed a the SCBOWBO constitution regarding Leave of Absence (LOA) policy. Officials returning from LOA are currently not allowed to officiate district games in the year that they return. Mike Proposed that any person who is rated in the district level, and returning from LOA, should be allowed to officiate district games and that we would extend the district list down the number of spots of people returning from a LOA. Board Discussed financial matters, and contingently approved the following items. A budget of $750-$1000 for officials camp scholarships, donation to Relay for Life, gift card for DuPuy family, sending a representative to WOA conference in August, and increasing the athlete scholarship fund to $1000 (800+ was donated by membership) so if the board so chooses can give out two 500 dollar scholarships. All budgetary items are contingently approved on a review of finances and money being available. Motion was approved to send the incoming president or his or her designee to the WOA conference each year. This will include a report out to the entire board. Wayne and Kevin reported out on the off season recruiting meeting. 2007-2008 Ratings were approved and will be posted on the SCBOWBO website shortly. Jack briefly discussed
the new process for a mileage fee increase, and mentioned that we need to start
working that with the boys association ASAP. Actions: Duane: Needs to confirm with Pat and email the entire Board on financial status. Kevin: Send out an email to entire association, about assigner and financial secretary positions. * Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM |
