Meeting Minutes for SCBOWBO
|
|
|
Summary of meeting held Tuesday, April 2, 2002:
-
Paychecks: Many of our referees have still not turned in their pay sheets. Fines will be levied
according to the procedures outlined in the constitution. Our financial advisor, Jim Shaw, is
having to do an excessive amount of auditing and extra work because the game records he is
receiving from our school assignor are inaccurate and/or incomplete. It is obvious that we will
need to spend some time at one of next year's meetings going over the procedure and time guidelines
for pay sheets. We will also add documentation at the bottom of each blank paysheet that explain
the proper procedures.
-
Ratings: A few referees did not follow the rating guidelines causing an excessive amount of
auditing and extra work for our school assignor and the executive board. It is obvious that we will
need to spend some time at one of next year's meetings going over the ratings procedure. We will also
add documentation at the bottom of each blank ratings sheet that explains the proper procedures for
rating.
-
Budget update: We will have a complete audit of association revenues and expenses completed by July 1.
-
Scholarship update: Cerra Buckholz of Stanwood and Melissa Poolman of South Whidbey were the two
winners of our yearly scholarship program. Cerra and Melissa will each receive a $500.00 scholarship
towards their post high school education.
-
We sent six officials to the state tournament this year: Mannie Fernandez, Donnie Johnson, Brian
Padgett, Dana Reese, Dan Taylor, and Ashley Thomas. Both Mannie and Donnie were rewarded with the
championship game in their tournaments. Congratulations for a great job by all our state refs!
-
Summer Tournament: Snohomish High School will be hosting a girls JV and Varsity basketball tournament
on the weekend of June 29 and 30. More specific info to be gathered by Glenn Dunbar in the coming
weeks.
-
Referee Camps: Past President, Dan Taylor, is assigned the task of finding out about referee camps
for the summer of 2002. Dan did not attend the board meeting so no progress was made on this
item.
NEXT BOARD MEETING: Monday, May 6 at 7:00 PM
